Achter was designated for assignment Wednesday.

The Angels made some bullpen upgrades, claiming Blake Parker and Kirby Yates from the Yankees, so Achter lost his spot on the 40-man roster. Achter posted a 3.11 ERA last year, but his hideous 14:12 K:BB in 37.2 innings exposed him as someone who should struggle to hold a steady big league bullpen job going forward.
