Astros' Jake Meyers: Gets start in CF over McCormick

Meyers is starting in center field and batting seventh for the Astros in Thursday's opener versus the White Sox.

Chas McCormick seemingly was the favorite to open up in center field for the Astros, but manager Dusty Baker is going with Meyers, at least for the first game. In all likelihood, the two will share playing time at the position initially until one if them distinguishes themselves.
