Athletics' Felix Doubront: Returns to A's on minors deal

Doubront (elbow) has re-signed with the A's on a minor league contract, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The 29-year-old expressed gratitude for the way the A's "took care" of him following his Tommy John surgery in April, and a desire to "repay them on their investment and help them in the big leagues." Doubront is hoping to be healthy and stretched out enough to provide starting pitching depth by late in the first half of the season.
