Chien-Ming Wang: Released by Royals

Wang was released by the Royals on Thursday, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.

He was designated for assignment on Sept. 17 and the two sides opted to part ways. Wang logged a 4.22 ERA and awful 30:18 K:BB in 53.1 innings out of the Royals' bullpen this season. He has not pitched since being placed on the DL with biceps tendinitis on Aug. 31.
