Cubs' Locke St. John: Optioned to Triple-A

St. John was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

St. John was recalled by the Cubs on Saturday, and he made his first major-league appearance since 2019 during Saturday's loss to Milwaukee. He allowed three runs on three hits and no walks while striking out four in two innings, and he'll head back to the minors since the Cubs need to trim their active roster to 26 players by Monday.
