Dodgers' Jimmie Sherfy: Outrighted to minors

Sherfy (elbow) cleared waivers and was outrighted off the 40-man roster Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Sherfy posted a 4.20 ERA in 15 innings for the Giants and Dodgers this season, striking out a career-low 19.0 percent of opposing batters. He hit the injured list with elbow inflammation in late July and wound up missing the rest of the year.
