Mariners' Jaime Schultz: Assigned to minors

Schultz (oblique) was assigned to Seattle's minor-league spring training Monday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Schultz suffered a left oblique strain early in camp, which essentially snuffed out any chance he had of making the Opening Day roster. Prior to the injury, he surrendered three runs on three hits and two walks across two innings of work.
