Mariners' Jaime Schultz: Dealing with oblique strain

Schultz was diagnosed with a strained left oblique Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Schultz is in camp as a non-roster invitee and was never particularly likely to win a job. It's not clear exactly how much time the oblique issue will cost him, but even missing a relatively brief period will reduce his already slim chances of making the roster.
