Laffey signed a minor league deal with the Nationals on Friday. The contract includes an invitation to spring training.

Laffey made only three big league appearances last season, spending the bulk of the year in Triple-A as a member of the Rockies organization, which DFA'd him back in August. The 30-year-old did not pitch in the majors in 2014, but in 2013 he appeared in five games between the Mets and the Blue Jays.
