Nationals' Joey Wiemer: Claimed by Nationals

The Nationals claimed Wiemer off waivers from the Giants on Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

It's the third organization Wiemer has been in since November and fourth since August. The 26-year-old slashed .236/.279/.436 with a 2:23 BB:K over 27 contests for the Marlins in 2025. Wiemer is out of minor-league options, so he should have a good chance to make the Nationals' Opening Day roster in a reserve role.
