Orioles' Adam Plutko: Cast off 40-man roster

Plutko was designated for assignment Sunday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Plutko has gone through a nightmarish stretch lately in which he's allowed 17 runs and seven home runs in his last 8.1 innings. He and Dusten Knight were replaced on the big-league roster by Konner Wade and Fernando Abad.
