Padres' Jorge Ona: Shifts to 60-day IL

Ona (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

The 24-year-old was already on the shelf when he underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow Tuesday, and the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his potential return timeline since he's been ruled out 6-to-8 weeks. Ona could be back in mid-June if he hits the front end of the recovery timetable.
