Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Sent down Friday

Suwinski was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Suwinski started just two of the last five games and will lose his spot on the major-league roster after he went 0-for-28 with a run, four walks and nine strikeouts over the last 10 matchups. Diego Castillo should see an uptick in playing time following Suwinski's demotion, while Cal Mitchell was also recalled from Indianapolis on Friday and should see his fair share of at-bats.
