Red Sox's Pat Light: Makes MLB debut
Light allowed two runs on two hits and a walk in Tuesday night's 11-4 win over Atlanta.
The young righty was making his MLB debut after getting called up over the weekend. Light ran into early trouble, loading the bases with none out, before inducing three groundouts. Boston's been carrying 13 pitchers the last few days -- some recent sketchy performances by starters forcing them to go with an extra arm, plus playing in a National League city without benefit of a designated hitter -- but they've received three straight deep games out of the rotation, including David Price's eight-inning outing Tuesday, and are headed back to Boston on Wednesday. As such, the insurance of an extra arm is no longer required. We expect a move to be announced where a bat is called up to replace Light.
