Rockies' Fernando Abad: Removed from 40-man roster

Abad was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Abad tossed 1.1 scoreless innings Tuesday versus the Astros to earn his first major-league win since 2017, but a day later he's off the roster. The veteran reliever can elect free agency if he wants, assuming he clears waivers.
