Castro was removed from Saturday's lineup at Triple-A Toledo, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Javier Baez (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, and it seems likely that Castro will join the major-league club to provide depth at shortstop. Even if the 24-year-old is ultimately called up, Harold Castro should serve as the Tigers' primary shortstop in Baez's absence.
