Twins' Tyler Thornburg: Bumped from 40-man roster

Thornburg was designated for assignment by the Twins on Friday.

The Twins decided to swap out Thornburg for another journeyman reliever in Juan Minaya after he walked three and gave up three runs against Cleveland on Thursday. Thornburg did not give up a run in his first four appearances for the Twins and still has a respectable 3.32 ERA in 14 total appearances this season between Atlanta and Minnesota.
