Zach Brzykcy RP | MIA
Marlins' Zach Brzykcy: Outrighted to Jacksonville
Brzykcy cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Jacksonville, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Brzykcy was claimed off waivers in November after he posted a 9.00 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 23 innings with the Nationals this year. He'll remain in the organization but lose his roster spot, giving Miami an opening on the 40-man heading into the Rule 5 Draft.

Zak Kent SP | STL
Cardinals' Zak Kent: Claimed by St. Louis
The Cardinals claimed Kent off waivers from the Guardians on Friday.
Kent was a full-time reliever for the first time in 2025. He posted a 4.58 ERA and 16:8 K:BB over 17.2 innings with the big club and a 2.84 ERA with 50 strikeouts over 38 frames at Triple-A Columbus. The righty will turn 28 in February and compete for a spot in the Cardinals' Opening Day bullpen.

Joshua Walker RP | ATL
Braves' Josh Walker: Designated for assignment
Atlanta designated Walker for assignment Friday.
Walker was a waiver claim of Atlanta in November and will now go through the waivers process again. The left-hander holds a career 6.59 ERA and 31:14 K:BB over 27.1 innings covering parts of three big-league seasons and does not have minor-league options remaining.

Anthony Molina SP | ATL
Braves' Anthony Molina: Scooped up by Atlanta
Atlanta claimed Molina off waivers from the Rockies on Friday.
Molina holds an ugly 6.96 ERA over 52 appearances at the major-league level after being taken in the Rule 5 Draft two years ago. The 23-year-old has primarily been used as a starter in the minors and will likely begin the 2026 campaign as rotation depth at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Osvaldo Bido SP | ATL
Braves' Osvaldo Bido: Claimed by Atlanta
Atlanta claimed Bido off waivers from the Athletics on Friday.
Bido flashed promise for the Athletics in 2024 with a 3.41 ERA and 24.3 percent strikeout rate, but he fell off to a 5.87 ERA and 18.7 percent strikeout rate in 2025. The 30-year-old does not have minor-league options remaining and will likely begin the 2026 season in a long-relief role with Atlanta, but he could make some starts for them.

Marco Luciano LF | PIT
Pirates' Marco Luciano: Claimed off waivers by Pirates
The Pirates claimed Luciano off waivers from the Giants on Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Luciano was one of the top prospects in baseball a few years ago, but he has not progressed as hoped, slashing just .217/.286/.304 over 41 games in the majors and .227/.351/.401 at the Triple-A level. He's still just 24, though, so the Pirates felt he was worth a roll of the dice. Luciano -- who does not have minor-league options remaining -- has primarily been a shortstop but shifted to left field at Triple-A Sacramento in 2025. It's unclear at this point what position the Pirates have planned for him.

Cooper Criswell RP | NYM
Mets' Cooper Criswell: Claimed off waivers by Mets
The Mets claimed Criswell off waivers from the Red Sox on Friday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Criswell had been designated for assignment following Boston's five-player trade with Pittsburgh on Thursday. The 29-year-old has been a useful swingman for the Red Sox the last two seasons, holding a 4.00 ERA and 82:36 K:BB over 117 innings covering 19 starts and 14 relief appearances. Criswell does not have minor-league options remaining but is not yet arbitration-eligible, so the Mets will have several years of control of the righty.

Taylor Rashi RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Taylor Rashi: Back in Arizona as NRI
The Diamondbacks re-signed Rashi to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Friday.
Arizona non-tendered Rashi last month, but he'll return to the organization. Slated to turn 30 in January, Rashi posted a 4.41 ERA and 22:8 K:BB across 16.1 innings with the Diamondbacks in 2025.

Nick Castellanos RF | PHI
Phillies' Nick Castellanos: Willing to play first base
Castellanos said Friday that he would "really welcome" playing first base if asked, MLB Network reports.
Castellanos has never played first base before and has been a full-time right fielder since 2018. However, he came up through the minors as a third baseman and that was his primary position through his first five seasons in the big leagues, so he's not foreign to the infield. Castellanos is set to make $20 million in 2026 in his final year under contract with the Phillies, but the expectation is he will be either traded or released by Philadelphia this offseason.

Jhostynxon Garcia CF | PIT
Pirates' Jhostynxon Garcia: Dealt to Pittsburgh
Garcia and Jesus Travieso were traded from the Red Sox to the Pirates on Thursday in exchange for Johan Oviedo, Tyler Samaniego and Adonys Guzman, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
The Pirates are reportedly more willing to be aggressive to upgrade their roster this offseason, and Garcia will add some much-needed power potential to their lineup. He made a brief appearance in the majors with the Red Sox in late August but tallied only nine plate appearances. Garca otherwise had a solid campaign in the upper levels of the minors in 2025, consistently hitting about 15 percent above league average at 22 years old. He should immediately have the chance to win the starting job in the outfield for the Pirates this spring.
