Chris Thompson: Let go with injury tag

The 49ers waived/injured Thompson (undisclosed) on Saturday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

If Thompson clears waivers, he'll revert to the 49ers' injured reserve and await a potential injury settlement. The 26-year-old wideout hasn't played an NFL game since the 2017 season, so even if he reaches a settlement, he's a long shot to make an NFL roster.
