Ellis Merriweather: Sticks around in Green Bay

Merriweather signed with the Packers' practice squad Wednesday, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

Merriweather failed to make Green Bay's initial 53-man roster, but he's now been brought back as a practice squad player. The UMass product rushed for 99 yards on 25 carries during the Packers' three preseason games, and he could be elevated to the active roster if one of the three running backs on Green Bay's active roster misses time at some point this season.
