Izaiah Gathings: Injury waived by Chiefs

Kansas City waived Gathings (hamstring) with an injury waiver Friday.

Per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, by waiving Gathings with an injury waiver, if the tight end goes unclaimed, he'll become a free agent rather than landing on the Chiefs' IR. In a corresponding move, Kansas City signed TE Geor'quarius Spivey.
