Matt Cole: Waived by Washington

The Commanders waived Cole on Tuesday.

Cole operated as a return man during the Commanders' first two exhibition contests and finally got involved in the passing attacking during the preseason finale, catching two of three targets for 36 yards. The 25-year-old wideout appeared in one game for the 49ers in 2020 and one game for the Panthers in 2021, but he played exclusively on special teams.
