Panthers' Jaden Crumedy: Placed on IR with high-ankle sprain

The Panthers placed Crumedy (ankle) on injured reserve Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Crumedy sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Panthers' preseason opener against the Patriots. The injury kept him out of Carolina's last two exhibition contests, and Crumedy will now be required to sit out for at least the first four games of the regular season. The rookie sixth-round pick is eligible to return for Week 5 against the Bears on Oct. 6.
