Jets' Mason Shaw: Placed on waivers

Shaw was placed on waivers by the Jets on Thursday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Shaw will be sent to AHL Manitoba if he passes through waivers. The 25-year-old inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Jets in the offseason. He had a goal and two assists in 20 regular-season games with Minnesota last year, missing most of the season recovering from a torn ACL. He should be among the early call-ups if Winnipeg runs into any injury problems up front.
