Maple Leafs' Matias Maccelli: GWG against former club

Maccelli scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the Maple Leafs' 5-3 win over the Mammoth on Wednesday.

The former Utah winger got a measure of revenge against the franchise that drafted him in the fourth round back in 2019, helping to set up Auston Matthews for a tally midway through the second period before giving Toronto a 4-2 lead late in the third. It was Maccelli's first multi-point performance and first GWG in a Leafs jersey, and through 13 games this season he's chipped in three goals and seven points.
