It's been a tough week for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo -- but an even tougher month for the earthquake victims in Nepal.

Contrary to recent reports from the international press, the Portuguese soccer player did not donate €7 million -- his shirt number -- to Save the Children's earthquake relief efforts in Nepal, the organization announced on Thursday.

Nepal was hit with a 7.8-magnitude earthquake last month, and experienced a 7.3 quake that killed at least 37 people and injured approximately 1,100 while triggering some landslides near the Himalayas.

Ronaldo took to social media soon after the second earthquake to urge his followers to contribute to the charity.

"The global ambassador for Save the Children, Cristiano Ronaldo, has used his voice and his global visibility to raise awareness of the problems that the most vulnerable children around the world, including those affected by the earthquake in Nepal face. The latest information on the donation of Cristiano Ronaldo to the emergency response of Save the Children in Nepal is false," the statement read.

Although he scored a penalty kick, Ronaldo's club, Real Madrid, were eliminated in the semifinal round of the UEFA Champions League to Juventus at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, so he'll have plenty of free time (outside of league games) to make a donation. Keep in mind, Ronaldo has been a global ambassador since 2013, and just because they claim he hasn't donated does not mean he won't eventually make one.
