Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez avoided arbitration, agreeing to a one-year, $2.15 million contract for the 2015 season, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.
The 31-year-old Chavez had one of the best seasons of his career in 2014. He went 8-8 with a 3.45 ERA in 32 outings (21 starts).
