Braves extend contracts of manager Fredi Gonzalez, GM Frank Wren

The Braves have signed manager Fredi Gonzalez and GM Frank Wren to contract extensions, the team announced on Wednesday. The length of each deal was not disclosed, but both Gonzalez and Wren were set to enter the final year of their respective contracts.
Gonzalez, age 50, has been at the helm since prior to the 2011 season and has a record of 279-207 (.574) as Braves skipper. Last season, the Braves won 96 games and the NL East title. Previously, Gonzalez went 276-279 in three-and-a-half season as manager of the Marlins.
As for Wren, 55, he ascended to the GM role not long after the end of the 2007 season, succeeding the legendary John Schuerholz. Wren also served as GM of the Orioles in 1998.
