Cleto shipped to minors

The Cardinals optioned relief pitcher Maikel Cleto to Triple-A Memphis on Monday in order to clear a spot on the active roster for pitcher Trevor Rosenthal, whose contract was purchased from Double-A Springfield. Cleto was recalled from the minors in late June.
