Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro has dealt with a mild hamstring strain this spring, and while he hasn't been able to run at full speed yet, manager Rick Renteria believes he'll be ready by opening day, MLB.com reports.

He's progressing well," Renteria told MLB.com Friday. "For any of us, our biggest concern is to make sure he's ready for the start of the season."

Castro remains on schedule to participate in Cactus League games next week.
