The Diamondbacks have moved 2012 first-round draft pick Stryker Trahan from catcher to left field, the Arizona Republic reports.
"It’s a big change, but it’s a good different," Trahan said. "Coming to the field every day, it’s a lot less pressure knowing all I have to do is just run the outfield and just hit. Now that I can just play the outfield and worry about hitting, this can be a huge year for me offensively."
The team is hoping Trahan's bat will take off with the switch. He hit .254/.328/.462 with 10 home runs and 33 RBI in 236 at-bats with Rookie-level Missoula last season.
