Drew Smyly does sock throw for Rays

Drew Smyly continued to make progress in his recovery from left shoulder tendinitis. Rays manager Kevin Cash told the media that Smyly was able to do a sock throw, which uses a weighted sock held in the hand instead of a ball to go through a pitching motion. 

"He was very optimistic with the day," Cash said.
