UPDATE: X-rays showed no fracture, the Giants announced. Scutaro did have his left pinky in a splint following the game, however. It's unclear how much time he'll miss.

The Giants placed Pablo Sandoval on the DL with a foot problem Tuesday, and a few hours later it appeared they may have lost another infielder to injury. Marco Scutaro left the game against the Pirates after taking a Tony Watson fastball to the left hand. Here's the play:

Looks like it got him right on the knuckle. Scutaro was clearly in pain following the pitch and headed to the dugout almost immediately after talking to the trainer. He slammed his helmet and was obviously frustrated.
Scutaro, 37, went 1 for 3 with the hit-by-pitch in the game to raise his season batting line to a very impressive .332/.388/.444 in 58 games. San Francisco is already without Sandoval and Angel Pagan, so needless to say losing Scutaro would be rather devastating to their offense.
