Red Sox starting pitcher Henry Owens, the team's No. 2 prospect, threw a rain-shortened no-hitter Thursday night.

Owens, pitching for Double-A Portland, struck out nine and walked two batters. he retired the final 16 batters he faced, earning a complete game no-hitter in six innings. 59 of his 86 pitches were called for strikes.

"It was only six innings, so it was kind of a cheap one," Owens said, per The Republican Herald. "But it feels good to get the season started. I was ready to get out of Florida and up here again."
