Jared Weaver making steady progress

Angels starting pitcher Jared Weaver, on the 15-day disabled list with a broken left elbow, played catch for the second time since suffering his injury Friday, the Orange County Register reports.

Weaver threw from about 75 feet and was able to catch the return throws. He is slated to throw again Sunday.

Barring any setbacks, Weaver could be on track to return sometime in mid-to-late May.
