The Pirates moved pitcher Jeff Karstens to the 60-day disabled list Monday, MLB.com reports. The move opens roster space for several additions to the roster.
Karstens is back in Pittsburgh for further medical evaluation after having to stop throwing Friday due to pain in his right shoulder. He was originally on the DL due to inflammation in the shoulder.
