Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick turned in a decent performance but did not factor in the decision Sunday night against the Cardinals.

Kendrick, who made his third start of the season, surrendered a solo home run to Matt Carpenter in the opening frame. The right-hander was charged with two runs and eight hits in six innings of work. He also struck out six and walked one on 113 pitches, 70 for strikes.

Kendrick has a 3.28 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. He is slated to make his next start Friday against the Mets at Citi Field. He went 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA in his last five appearances (three starts) at Citi Field.
