It's easy to forget Chien-Ming Wang was once one of the best pitchers in baseball. He went 38-13 with a 3.67 ERA (123 ERA+) for the Yankees from 2006-07, and even finished second in the 2006 AL Cy Young voting behind Johan Santana.

Injuries started to set in during the 2008 season, sabotaging his career. Wang suffered a torn shoulder capsule in 2009, most notably. He has a 5.55 ERA (72 ERA+) in 121 2/3 big league innings since. The injury ruined his career.

Wang is still pitching, however. He's spent the last few seasons bouncing around Triple-A and is currently at that level with the Mariners. Tuesday night was his turn to sit behind the plate and chart the game, which he did. Except he recorded everything in traditional Chinese to mess with his teammates and the coaching staff:

The internet tells me the mystery pitcher being charted sat 87-88 mph with his fastball and mixed in some low-80s changeups and low-70s curveballs.

Wang, now 35, was born and raised in Taiwan and is arguably the best big leaguer the country has produced. He's still a rock star there too. People love him. Being a great Yankee comes with serious benefits.
