It's not often the interests of kid me and adult me intersect, but here we are. At the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on Thursday night, former Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter received the very appropriate Legends Award and was presented with a trophy.

Of course, since this is Nickelodeon, Jeter's acceptance speech was followed by a couple of gallons of slime being dumped on his head. This is Nickelodeon we're talking about. The threat of being slimed is very real. Here's the video:

Hey, they broke out the gold slime for Jeter. They don't use that for nobodies, to paraphrase Reggie Jackson.
