Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira hit his first home run of the season Thursday, in a 14-5 win over the Red Sox.
Teixeira clubbed his home run in a big third inning to help put the Yankees up for good early. He went 1 for 3 overall in the game, while reaching base an additional three times via walk.
Teixeira has been limited to eight of the Yankees' first 23 games due to a hamstring injury, and is still trying to find his way. He is hitting .241/.353/.379 in 29 at-bats.
