Reds pitcher Mat Latos gave up two earned runs on six hits and one walk in five innings while striking out three in his rehab start with Triple-A Louisvile, but the outing was cut short with an apparent leg injury, MLB.com reports.
Latos was scheduled to throw 90 to 100 pitches in the game before potentially being activated from the disabled list for his next start, but he managed just 67 pitches before being removed. His wife tweeted that he was removed with a calf cramp, and the minor-league team was exhibiting extreme precaution with the rehabbing pitcher. The team is expected to have an update on his status Thursday.
