RUMORS & SPECULATION

Diamondbacks: Fox's Jon Morosi reports that, in the wake of the serious elbow injury to CF A.J. Pollock, the team may have interest in Michael Bourn (free agent) or Will Venable (Phillies). Either way, prospect Socrates Brito figures to get the bulk of the playing time in center while Pollock is out.

Blue Jays, Phillies: Toronto acquired P Chris Leroux from the Phillies in exchange for cash considerations.

SIGNINGS & AGREEMENTS

Angels: Signed P Neal Cotts to a minor-league contract. 

Blue Jays: Signed P Franklin Morales to a one-year, $2 million contract. 

Pirates: Yahoo!'s Jeff Passan reports that the Pirates have agreed to a five-year contract extension with OF Gregory Polanco.

White Sox: Signed P Miguel Gonzalez to a minor-league contract. 

INJURY UPDATES

Cardinals: OF Tommy Pham was forced to leave Sunday's game with oblique tightness ... In the words of GM John Mozeliak, P Jordan Walden will miss "a few months" because of a lat strain. (Jennifer Langosch via Twitter)

Dodgers: Among others, C Yasmani Grandal (forearm) and 2B Howie Kendrick (calf) will open the season on the DL.

Indians: Placed OF Michael Brantley (shoulder) on the DL to start the season. This was expected, and Brantley may be able to return before late April. 

Pirates: As expected, they placed INF Jung Ho Kang (leg) on the DL, but they're hoping he'll be able to return before the end of April

Orioles: OF Hyun-Soo Kim made the O's Opening Day active roster.

Padres: Designated P Josh Martin for assignment.

Royals: P Chien-ming Wang, who had been semi-retired, has made the team's active roster.
