The Phillies declined their 2016 option on starting pitcher Cliff Lee (elbow), the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Lee did not pitch this year due to a tear in the flexor tendon in his elbow. He opted for rehab over surgery, but never was able to get back on a mound during the season. It is possible his career is over.
