The Pirates are eager to re-sign pitcher A.J. Burnett, outfielder Marlon Byrd and shortstop Clint Barmes, MLB.com reports. Burnett is expected to be extended a $14.1-million qualifying offer, one that MLB.com expects him to accept.

Burnett has said that he'll either pitch for the Pirates in 2014 or retire. Byrd is due for a sizable raise from his $700,000 salary in 2013 after hitting .291/.336/.511 with 24 home runs and 88 RBI in 532 at-bats. Barmes just finished a two-year, $10.5-million contract, hitting .221/.263/.316 in 759 at-bats over the last two years.
