Rays option Joey Butler to make room for Desmond Jennings

The Rays will activate outfielder Desmond Jennings from the disabled list on Friday, the team announced after Wednesday's game.

Jennings has been out since late April due to a knee injury. To make room for Jennings, the Rays sent Joey Butler down to Triple-A. Butler was hitting .278 with six home runs prior to Wednesday’s contest.
