Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero had a disastrous 2012 and an even more disheartening start to his 2013 campaign. But after ditching team-suggested mechanical changes in late May, Romero has been on a bit of a roll in the minors.

Over his last eight starts, Romero has a 3.12 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. His strikeouts have been inconsistent (he has 21 in his last four starts, but they've ranged from three to seven in each game) and he's issued a few too many walks, but Romero at least looks close to getting back to pre-2012 form (3.31 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 2010 and 2011). In his last four starts, Romero has a 3.00 ERA and 1.15 WHIP, with his walk rate seeing a significant drop.

Romero is still an AL-only gamble for a Fantasy team struggling with its starting pitching. But he has improved lately and the Blue Jays could definitely find a use for a vintage version of Romero in their tattered rotation.
