Royals OF Johny Gomes was late addition to lineup Thursday

Royals outfielder Jonny Gomes was a late addition to Thursday's lineup against the White Sox, MLB.com reported.

Gomes will replace Alex Rios in right field due to Rios' sore back. However, it's unlikely his presence in the lineup will be consistent moving forward. He will bat eighth in Rios' place.
