Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino made a massive impact in his return to the lineup Wednesday, going 2 for 4 with a double and four RBI as the Red Sox beat the Cardinals 6-1 in Game 6 of the World Series to win the 2013 title.
Victorino, who entered the game 0 for 10 in the series, took a walk in his first plate appearance to put two men on with no outs in the second inning but the Red Sox couldn't capitalize. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the third inning, he drove a bases-clearing double off the Green Monster, advancing to third on the throw home. Victorino came up with the bases loaded and two outs again in the fourth inning and poked a single into center field to add another RBI to his total. Victorino flew out to left field in the seventh inning to end his night but not after playing a critical role in his team's series-clinching victory.
