Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen put together another quality start Saturday but it wasn't enough in a 3-0 loss to the Rays, continuing a tough trend for the pitcher.

It's the ninth time in 10 starts that Chen has allowed three or fewer earned runs, but during that time span, he's only got one win on his ledger. Chen allowed single runs in each of the first three innings, but wound up going seven innings, scattering six hits while striking out four.

"I tried to keep the ball down, I tried to keep the opponent from scoring runs," Chen said through an interpreter to MLB.com. "Unfortunately, I allowed some extra-base hits in the first three innings. One of the home runs, that wasn't a good pitch. It wasn't the location I wanted it to be."

Chen falls to 1-4 on the season but has a solid ERA of 3.21.
