Yankees reliever Andrew Miller earned the first save opportunity Wednesday and delivered, striking out one in a 1-2-3 ninth inning to close out his team's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays.
After Dellin Betances gave up an unearned run in the eighth to put his team down two runs, the offense was able to storm back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Yankees then turned to Miller, who threw eight of his 10 pitches for strikes en route to the save.
Miller and Betances will likely share the closing role during the early portion of the season, if not longer, but it was the lefty who picked up the team's first save of the season Wednesday.
